looking to build a youth bow for a 4-6 year old with red oak board from home depot.  What are the dimensions / length do I need?  Maybe 48" long?
Quinn Stallion Classic 40# @ 29"
Quinn Stallion 50# @ 28"
Quinn Comet XL 30# @ 28"

PEARL DRUMS

I generally go 48" long, 1" wide and 3/8 thick for real little ones like 4-6 yr olds.

Thanks man...got the other piece that I ripped to make the self bow that broke on me today, gonna make a youth bow out of it.

1" at the fades and taper it down to ?" or just leave it 1" all the way?  It is nominal 3/4" thick.

Take a 1/4"x2"x4' straight grained board with a glue on handle works wonders for kids bow.

Pyramid taper.  Almost self tillered.

PEARL DRUMS

3/8" wide tips, straight taper from the handle is fine.
