I have noticed that Smooth On is pretty much the norm for doing laminates.  But is there anything else that will work and maybe doesn't need heat?  I am going to put a lam on the belly of a bow I am working on but I don't have a oven box yet.  Will TB3 or fiberglass resin work for this?  Mainly looking for something that I can easily find.

Thanks
Matt

You dont need to heat Smooth on it will cure in 24hrs without heat, we heat it to speed up cure.

Oh ok. thats good to know.  But I don't have a local supplier that I know of and don't want to wait a week or so to order some.  Will anything else work?

Like T Folts said: Smooth-on will cure without heat but don't use fiberglass resin.

I would stick with the Smooth On. Even if I had to wait and extra week. What's an extra week considering the life of the bow?

If you can't wait for Smooth On or Urac-185 then you're already going to fast to be even moderately successful.

I already ordered some smooth-on a little bit ago.  I will wait.  That will give me time to work on a form, heat box and string jig.
