I have been attacked by Gremlins!!!!  Haven't had too much time to work on bows lately, work keeps getting in the way.  Finally got a break at work and jumped back on some projects.  Well this is how my last 2 weeks has gone.  Had a osage kids bow started ( for the 5 year old) blew to pieces while i was tiller it.  Third trip to the tillering stick, BOOM.  Still not sure what happened there.  Second bow was a hickory stick, tillered pretty well.  Did a little sanding getting it close to finished and the hinge from you know where appears in the top limb.  Third bow, oak board bow, tillered and shooting, drew it back, bottom limb went flying (followed by the rest of the bow, bad day).  Fourth bow, another kids bow oak this time.  Bandsaw blade apparently is tired and dull (more so than I thought) blade wandered right of coarse and ruined a limb before i could stop it.
Every have one of those weeks?  Looking for saw blades now, getting ready to go wood gathering, hopefully the gremlins will be gone soon.

Lonewolf, I've been there too. Made two great bows this winter, then the next three went south.

Burning the shavings.  Maybe I should dance around the shop while burning them.  Better not, the neighbors are already wondering about me I think.  Ordering new saw blades, going wood finding, starting again next week.  Maybe I will try a build along.  Get a picture of a gremlin on film that way...

Find you some raw sage and tie in a bundle like a straw broom. Then light it on fire and blow out the flames so it's just smoldering and you get a good smoke coming off of it.
Then walk to the center of your shop and walk straight to each corner and back to the center. Repeat this until all 4 corners and the center of the shop have been blessed.

If that isn't enough, sweep up every scrap of wood or shavings that might be on the floor from leftover trashed projects. Carry them outside to a convienent location and burn them.
Hopefully that will do it.   :banghead:

It's happened to just about all of us at some point.
I've been trying to get a hot box and a bow done and slipped on the ice Friday while carrying a 2x4, landed on top of the board and cracked a rib. I've been gimping around ever since and haven't even been able to touch a draw knife. The first 3 days afterwards was excrutiatingly painful. I'm just now getting to where I can take a normal breath of air.   "[dntthnk]"

Sometimes your the baby and sometimes your the diaper.
That made me nearly spit my beer, funniest thing I've read in a while and how true.
I have lost 2 oak kids board bows in as many weeks. Will have to burn their shavings with some of the shavings of the next bow and combine it with good thoughts.

Semo, sorry to hear about the misshap. Busted ribs suck.

Semo, sorry to hear about the fall.  Hope your feeling better.  As soon as my new blades arrive I will be jumping back at it.  Need two kids bows, and two 45#ish bows made.
If i can find the wood and the time going to make myself and my oldest one a set of bowfishing bows, might even stain them blue.
Hopefully there will be good news from my shop soon.

Savage, you better start burning shavings around your shop after that comment.     :campfire:
