When I bought my old Craftsman table saw, I also got an old dust collection pump & motor. This is all I have at this point. Other than piping, what should I get to pump the dust into or through. My space is somewhat limited as my shop is in the basement, and roughly 16' x 12'.

You can get a cyclone lid that fits on a 5 gallon bucket at amazon. That will help save your motor. I have thought about making a cyclone out of a 55 gallon drum, just havent done it yet. If you look up dust cyclone online you will see some there and you should be able to fashion something.

That sounds good. I have a 30 gallon plastic drum at the house just waiting for some use. Was going to be a deer feeder, but sounds like it may work for dust collection. Thank you, Sir.

Oh, and if you can locate it outside you would really thank me later.

They also make a lid for a garbage can that is like the one that camoman mentioned for the 5 gallon bucket.  I used one of those for a long time with my 1 1/2 hp dust collector.

It would also be a great idea to get some info on grounding the system.  They can build up a lot of static electricity which can lead to an explosion.  I've never seen it happen but have heard some horror stories.
