Show off your shop

Nice! I am jealouse of the guys that can keep an organized shop. I am fortunate to have a fairly large shop. Nice for room to move around, but a booger to Cool during our 11 1/4 month long summer.
I will tell you though, build it as big is you can afford. It will soon be too small!

I am constantly looking for more machinery for my full shop.

Nice shops everyone! Good to see that there are people like myself out there that believe in "spring cleaning" also. Which means that I don't clean my area until something springs itself out of my view so that I have to clean a bunch of stuff up to find it. It is always under the last thing I check though, still can't figure that one out,lol!

BigJim I would definately have to agree with you on the never have enough room thing. It doesn't take long to fill a space once you get started.

Kirkll, That's an awesome drill press. I especially like the adjustable table. Do you have a building with several rooms or is it just a huge room? Lots of lumber too, I'm jealous.

Kirkll, Do I count three bandsaws? Part of me wants to say you're a cabinet maker, or at least own one's shop. Though I don't see a table saw..

Nope, just two band saws.... and i don't build boxes, i build bows in this shop, and an occasional piece of furniture.

kirkill that shop looks like a lab. a bow lab. do you wear a hazmat suit when you use that drill press?

im just messin with ya , its a gorgeous shop. i love seeing a woodworking shop with hardwood floors. it looks like you shop is your living room.

ill get a pic of my measly meager "bench" in my "shop"....lol..

Good News!!! Thanks to this thread, I have talked the wife into letting me build a proper bowshop somewhere around 25'x25' with a wood stove for heat.

Bad News... I have to wait until the kids move out. Maybe in 10 years or so.

Whip, Awesome set up you have there! I like the metal dust collector piping and air filtration unit, I definately need to invest in one of those. Is your dust collector the canister type?

Savage, my dust collector is a 2hp Grizzly cyclone unit. It does a really nice job. The metal duct work is sure nice, but is plenty expensive. I think I had almost as much stuck into the duct work as I did in the collector!

All this talk about shops got me thinking...my wife says that usually means trouble. I am looking into expanding my pumphouse/storage shed into a shop. Seems my wife likes the idea of getting all my woodworking stuff out of the garage...yeah! So, is there a layout of a shop that I could look at to help in planning this? The building is 15ft.X 18ft. But I'm thinking of knocking out a wall and expanding it.

Whip, those cyclone units are awesome, I thought about building one. Thats another projects. I would like to eventually upgrade to the metal piping, just not in the budget right now.

Snag, I designed/buit my own shop, Im sure you could do the same. I would definately expand as much as possible. You never have enough space.

Nice set up Whip. I like the looks of the router/outfeed table and whatever else you use it for. It looks like there is a track there but do you have a fence you use with it too? I wish I had my shop again. I'm almost ready to retire and I really need a shop.
