I used to have a great shop and I built a lot of furniture as a hobby.  I had the house built when I took a job transfer.  It had a three stall garage with a prestressed floor and a full basement to it that was my shop.  I'm sad to say I have no pictures of it.  I didn't build bows then.  I sold that when I got divorced.  I bought my current place which was a long time dream, a small acreage in the country.

It's a beautiful location with a bunch of shabby buildings.  I have no garage, a 100+ year old barn that needs a lot of work, an old three sided pole building that housed hay and cattle before I got here and a dilapidated granary that I have yet to tear down.

Most of my power tools have been stored in the barn collecting rust and dust.  I have access to my table saw in the pole barn and a band saw and little belt/disk sander in the barn.  I've built one bow and working on two more.

After braving the cold at the band saw I brought the roughed out board bow into the finished basement and work over a sheet of canvas covering the carpet.  It's far from ideal but it is great sawdust therapy.

Sorry for the rambling but it still helps to vent about the old shop.  haha

You guys are completely immoral with how clean some of your shops are. What happened to looking out for your brothers. Not all of us are that clean and you make us look real bad.

No, that is a roadkill from KY.  It is a massive deer with 6" bases.  It gross scored 165 and netted 157.  I am doing a Euro mount on it for the guy.  I have done enough mounts this year to almost pay my way to the Tenn. Classic.

Broketooth - Awesome cabinets, I am definately lacking in that category. Did you build those yourself? The pegboard is a good idea too.

With all of the lumber I see in your shops looks like you guys have been doing some serious work!

Razorback - Looks like you've got some good help there. I may have to show your picture to my girl so I can get her out there to give me a hand.

I lucked into the shop I have. I built it as storage and an eventual woodshop for when I retired, but due to being burgalarized I was able to invest the insurance money into a shop now. Looks a little overkill for building bows. I could've saved alot of money by buying benchtop tools and spent the rest on bow material. Wish I would've known that then.

You guys have some great shops and I appreciate you sharing the pics. I'm getting alot of good ideas. Keep em coming.

I hope Dick visits this page again..soon  :)
I also have a small shop and I'm in the middle of creating it. I like how all your stuff is on casters. I am wondering how you get the tool your working with to hold still. Have you got locking casters or have you got a more creative way to hold the tools still?

My table saw has a lift on it. I think they are pretty much universal fit and you can put them on other tools. You just step on it to lift it up and roll it around then you step on it again to drop it where you want it.
