Made this for a friend, red elm,1.5" wide at the fades, 67.5" NTN, 55#@29" ebony tip overlays and a fast flight string. Birch bark was in 4 pieces so I wrapped the splice with red silk. I'm only drawing it about 25" in the picture due to a bad shoulder I was over maxed out at that point. Also made him 6 Tonkin cane arrows to complete the set. Any and all comments welcome.

It has a small amount of string follow but I only added about 1" of backset so I'm pleases with the results.

Looks like you did a nice job, I like the birch bark idea. Hows the hand shock with those straight limbs, I,v never shot a straight limb- just woundering?

What an awesome bow Dana!  Loving everything about it!

Cool bow, Dana. I like everything about it. Did you use TBIII for the bark or hide glue? Nice arrows too.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate it.
Pat I used TB 3 to glue the  bark down but I'm sure hide glue would be even better as it dries and shrinks a bit it would help pull the bark into any dips or cavities.
Knawbone I don't feel any handshock at my short draw, I don't know what it will be like at the full 29" I can only dream of such a long draw LOL

Dana, very nice bow and sweet job witht he bark. How did you apply it and get such a smooth finish. I did a birch bow with yellow birch bark, a couple of years ago and it looked much rougher in texture. I really like th e look of yours.
