PEARL DRUMS

Just finished up "2lite". Its a 66" ntn red oak with hickory backing. The grip is hickory/red oak lam'ed together. It has 5 coats of Tru Oil and a plain leather stitched grip. Probably give it to a deserving youth or lady. I had a HECK of a time getting the limbs to work together so my weight is about 35 @ 28". I have another ready to go today, blew work off just to work on it!

Good looking.  Would like to see a full draw picture.

I always heard that hickory might overpower oak.  But you got it done.

PEARL DRUMS

The hickory is very thin. I planed the strip down to .125" exactly before glue up, its probably around .110 after finish sanding. The oak was .625 to start. I glued up a slight R/D of the same nature, thats where I will find out how powerful hickory backing is. If she blows...she blows!

Sweet looking, way to go!

Good lookin bow. Those r/d bows can be tricky tilerring.

PEARL DRUMS

It is a straight glue up. Two flat pieces and TBIII between, sandwiched to my work bench with oodles of spring clamps.

Very attractive bow!  Pearl, I love that bow. Simple, but I'll bet it shoots well.
Good lookin' bow, man!

No full draw pics, maybe tonite if my wife complies. She is my photographer. I did get a bunch more shots through it last night. It shoots a 40-45# arrow pretty good.
