Hey just was wondering about this wood for selfbows ive heard about it alot in laminated bows but not much for just the plan selfbow.

Ever used it? and what does it compare to in other woods? Fast, Smooth, Takes lots of set?? etc...

It makes a great belly wood,  before glass it was used in production bows... unbacked.

I have some, the reason for the expense is it's no longer found in the US.  I think most of it comes into Canada from Cuba.  We can purchase it from Canada.
