Is there a way to fill deep scratches in clear glass that will hide the scratches? I was thinking about trying Smooth-On or 5 minute epoxy.

I think smoothon would be better, you know it'll flex if on the working portion of limb. Be sure to let us know how/what works!

That's a tough one.. what kind of finish?.. spray on poly, rub on finish?

I would lightly sand that area with fine sand paper.. try to get some of the depth out of it..

You could dry a little super glue.. fine sand then do a single finish over that area.. Min wax makes a rub on poly.. works good.

That's why I like Tung oil.. I can sand it all the way down back to wood in one spot.. rub on some more tung oil and never see it.
God gave you hands, use them

I went with several coats of super glue, using a razor and fine grit sand paper betwee coats. I will let you know how it turns out.
