sinew-fletching question

I'm working on some primitive arrows and was hoping someone could give me a couple tips for connecting my turkey feathers to the shaft with sinew.  I'm using back sinew (hydrated) to strengthen my self nocks and to connect both ends of my fletching to the shaft.  I would like to wrap the sinew through the fletching also but the feather keeps getting squished.  Any suggestions (or web site links) are greatly appreciated!

I usually just tie them fore and aft. If you tie the rear part first then begin to wrap the forward part a few turns then pull the quill tight and continue wrapping it will hold just fine and lay flat.
 Here are 4 different types of fletching that are all just tied front and aft. My style of 2fletch, Eastern Woodland 2fletch, tangential 3 fletch(with 3 whole small feathers) and a standard 3fletch.

Pat, How does your 2 fletch style  compare in flight to the others and to a standard glued on 3 fletch?

Also on your 2 fletch are you using the primary feathers?

I don't use sinew, but here are a few I did with fine nylon thread.

I have fletched w/o  jig but mych easier to fletch with one. I fletch with the  jig. I tie a couple pieces sinew  together and then wrap them through the fletching. Takes a bit of practice but it can be made to look neat.  Jawge

Ron, If they are set up properly they fly just as well as any other fletching. All of these are primary except the tangential 3fletch. They are small Canada goose wing feathers. The Eastern Woodland style works well with secondary and tail feathers too. I use all sorts of feathers. All 4 of these arrows are hunting arrows. I test shoot any arrow I plan to hunt with. The rejects become wall hangers for friends.
