I got a trunk of a Holly tree that is green. It's about 6 & 1/2' long and about 10" on the big end and 8" on little. I want to make a bow or whatever from it. Should I split it or saw it and how? Could someone suggest something. Should it dry? It is pretty straight and no knots on the trunk. There are however bumps which could have once been limbs cut and healed over. These are on one side only. Please guide me.

There was a thread on here a couple of years ago about a holly bow. The bow was called "hollyween" if I remember right. Not sure if she ever got finished, but it was a good build along. I will try to look it up and see what i can find for you.

Here is the link. Unfortunately Bernie hasn't posted whether he finished it or not, though the important stuff for you is in the front end of the build. It's long, but very entertaining.
