new bow

I built a new bow out of a mulberry branch i've had laying around. Only turned out to be 41#@26" which is a little light for my taste. Decided it would make a great gift for the 14 yr old son of a friend. I think I have a new convert. I had fun building it and it was a great escape from a lousy football game, but seeing the light come on when he shot his first few arrows was better.

You have plenty of lenght to shorten it if you want to raise the poundage.

Thanks guys. It actually turned out better than I hoped, it was really just an experiment for me. I wanted to see if i could get a hunting weight bow from a small diameter branch. It is not tillered backwards, it is mostly sapwood because of the small diameter. It was 1 1/8" at large end and 7/8" at the other. I got into heartwood only the last 15" or so of thicker end. Got reports from friend that his son is shooting it daily too.
