Is Dogwood and acceptable wood for a selfbow? If so, what is the aging time. Do you leave the bark on or take it off for the aging process?

I have not built a dogwood bow but have a few staves to work with. I have seen two dogwood bows lately and both were beautiful bows that shoot very well.   Treat it like Hickory as far as design and seasoning. If you do peel the bark seal the back.
