I have  been working on another one.  She is 64" long,
riser is yellowheart and black walnut, with red and
black glass accents.  Hoping for mid to high forties
in draw weight.  Lots of sanding to go.

How cool is this one? Way!! I'd say...

Jess that one looks like deer candy and if looks can kill it should be a real dandy.

No!... I didn't start out to be poetic... but the bow just brought it out of me..lol

Please keep us posted as this "flower" blossoms.

Hmmmm... come to think of it flowers to attract deer. All those fine folks in Columbia know that and it's become such a problem that they have opened the city to urban bow hunting.

If I owned something like that it would have the "Flower Power" name written on it somewhere...lol

Thank you for sharing with us Jess.

Your skill at birthing bows from raw materials is evident. Not only in this one but I had a chance to shoot another of your creations that you made for ScottM and it was a "Honey" of a bow both in looks and shooting.

Thanks guys.  Flower power huh Mudd, I grew up during the sixties and all the flower power.  If it were to be named flower power the owner would have to drive a VW van with a peace sign on it. HE HE

I like the belly mounted limbs. do you make your own wedges? I see that the flat side is on the outer side. Is that a 16 inch riser with 4 inch pads? how long are your wedges? Very nice Jess. I realy likes the other one you made. Just made my first three peice long bow and I want to try the belly mounted limbs on the next one.

A really nice bow, Jess.

Excellent Jess.  I love your bow design.

Bob  do make my own wedges, the riser is sixteen inches long with four and one half limb pads, wedges are eight and half inches long.  Both sides of the wedges are flat, I rip them from four quarter stock and grind the taper on them.  I have made them all three eights thick but think I will make the next ones a little thicker.

Every time I look at it, I like it more!

Me too Kenny! Me too!

I find myself coming back over and over to see if it looks any different or something.

I can't say why other than good looks but it sure has created a magnetic attraction for me.

One question, is the blue on the back of the limbs blue glass or tape?

Sorry if that's an ignorant question.

Great job Jess. I really like the design of that bow. The way the black and white accents come together in the grip really caught my eye. Beautiful bow.

Awesome job, Jess ! Love the way the limbs are integrated into the riser. Very nice ! I bet with that riser the bow is very nice to shoot.

I had to wait quite a while to make this post.

Jess was great at helping me get one of his bows.

Here's the story:

A tradgang friend of mine (StottM) was involved in the bow trade that happened earlier this year.

As it turned out by some fluke of luck Scott got Jess's name and Jess got Scott's name.

I only found out because I was enlisted to gather information on each of them as to their likes and dislikes.

After all the trading was done Scott and I met up  so I could see and shoot the bow he got from Jess. (I was impressed)

Scott made a post here on tradgang about his new favorite bow. During that same post he mentioned that he played it kind of low key around me since he knew that I wouldn't ever be able to get one of these bows.

That sure sounded enough like a challenge that it got me to thinking.

On Monday Scott and I got together again for some shooting.

It was pricelss to me, the look on his face and the question "How on earth did you ever get one of Jess's bows?"...lol

Here are some pictures.

I think he's speechless in this one..lol

Thank you Jess!!!

I love my "Flower Power"!!
