Hey all. Whats is the best bow wood for a flatbow out of, lemonwood, black locust, white elm, or hickory. Only one I have tried before is white elm.

I've always liked black locust. Remember you have to chase a ring on it to get a heartwood ring for the back whenever possible. Hickory is really tough stuff. BL does not soak in the moisture as quickly as hickory does. I've made one from lemonwood and one from American elm. I can't speak to them on a small sample. Jawge

Too many variables are unknown.  But for me, I would choose hickory.

I agree with John on both points.

Is this your first bow? if it is then i would go with hickory, but like they said above to many unknown variables.
