So this is my first real snakey bow, the first bow I've backed with a snake skin, and the first bow I've done a handle wrap on. Also this is my second osage bow. I started this one at MOJAM and was able to finish it in time for the clout shoot just as I did last year. I think it'll become a tradition for me. It's 65" ntn, and about 50#@28". The bow took more set than I was expecting it to take but I think it may have been due to high moisture, low density osage, and poor tillering on the bottom limb. Even so it shoots just as fast as any of my other bows. I'm not sure what kind of snake the skin is but I was told it was some sort of rattler. The skin was purchased from Timo who also graciously explained how to apply the skin at MOJAM. The tips and arrow rest are cow leg bone and the handle wrap is from an old belt. Anyways I had a blast making this bow and I don't think I'll ever reach for the straight stave again. Thanks for looking.

Very nice bow Ryan. Its great to see young bowyers taking up the work and turning out such outstanding arcs. Keep it up and good hunting!

Very nice Ryan, looks like a nice bow with the skins added, tiller looks good. The skins are timbler rattlers, also known as velvet tails.

Great work there, Ryan!  I like the handle profile, and you did a very clean job on the handle wrap.  Now, get busy and make yourself a set of good-looking wooden arrows with some feather fletchings (wink wink)   :bigsmyl:
