I'm not a computer person, so I hope this photo loads.
Osage is a little scarce in Idaho, so I dyed quilted maple yellow. It looks like osage, plus it will never darken. The yellow dymondwood riser(bermuda lemonwood) is close enough to match.
Next weekend I will try red quilted maple with a burgandy dymondwood riser in a one peice longbow.
I love it when a plan comes together.
I didnt miss, thats right where I was aiming

Thats beautiful. Between how pretty that is and Apex's experiment, I am really wanting to try a takedown. Time to get over the fear of screwing up, and try something new.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

That looks great.  What kind of dye did you use?

Yellow analine. You have to remember that smooth-on has a golden brown tint and will darken the limb. Those laminations were bright yellow before they were glued up.
