silk or linen backing wanted plse

does any body know where we could get hold of some silk or linen suitable for backing a holmgaard.

old neck ties... most were silk...

Just about any fabric store has it.  I bought two yards of linen and cut into strips

I bought 2 yards of silk cloth at a "Fabricland" in SE Alberta.

Didn't cost all that much either, and I have enough for a fair number of bows.

Old dresses will give you silk. Try Goodwill, etc.  Fabric stores have linen. There's burlap too which you can get at garden stores but get the real stuff. Jawge

someone posted that they got silk neckties from goodwill and used them for backing. The colors and patterns would be endless
