Dymondwood & Parallels

Hey guys, has anybody used Dymondwood in a riser?

Also, would a limb laminate consisting of 3 parallels, and only 1 taper work?

I have used cocobolo or walnut colored Dymondwood in four Bingham one piece recurve risers, I used one 002 taper and 2 parallels for this style recurve.  I have used 2 tapers(003 total) and 2 or 3 parallels when building R/D longbows

3 parallels and 1 taper - Yes that will work for a straight limbed longbow.  That's basically a Bingham design and you could look at their weight chart to get your total stack thickness right.

I'm building a hybrid R&D Longbow.  Do you think I'll have problems with this combination?

This pic is of an unfinished 64" R/D bow, I got the template from KennyM and used the 2 tapers and 2 parallels like he told me to use. The 2 tapers in this bow had a total taper of .003 per inch. the last bow I built I used 3 thin parallels and 2 tapers and it shoots great..

I think it doesn't matter if you use three or four lams in your stack as long as the total taper is 0.002 - 0.004. We have seen fantastic examples of both here on the bowyer's bench. I prefer a four lam stack  because you can build it symmetrical and IMHO it looks nicer. I got a excel table from Jason that helps me to get the correct stack. It has always worked perfect for me so far. You can ask Jason for it or you can download it here...
