My master woodworking friend is pretty impressed with the grizzly tools he purchased a couple of years ago.  Hope you have a great time with it.  Keep your fingers clear of the blade!

Grizzly's great!  I'm blessed by having their West Coast distribution center just north of us in Bellingham.  Two years in a row my birthday has been celebrated by a trip to Bellingham and a return with full van loads of Grizzly tools.   The first year took two trips!  My shop is full of Grizzly stuff... friends call it "Grizzly South".  I haven't had a tool I didn't like.  I had one instance of breakage revealed when I opened the box (a grinding wheel) and they replaced it.  I had some problems setting up one tool and their tech expert spent a good hour on the phone with me guiding me through it.  I have two of the G0555 bandsaws.  One I was given, totally burned out and shot, and then rebuilt.  Again, Grizzly's tech section helped guide me through the total rebuild of the machine, which is now fully the equal of the one I bought new.  I don't think you'll go wrong with their stuff.

Don't forget to invest in (or ask for for christmas) the 6" riser kit they sell for that saw. I think it's $70 but you'll love the versatility it'll give your saw.

It increases the depth you can saw.  I don't have the extension on mine now, because I don't need it for bow work, but I used to have one on my old Delta when I was making ventriloquist figures and carousel horses.  It was vital for the deep cuts for heads.   It does mean you need the longer blades, of course.

Dick basically called it. It raises your resaw height from 6" to 12"! Usually you gotta go to a 17 or 19" saw to get that resaw capacity. If you don't intend on resawing anything wider than a 6" board, you got no worries, but I use mine for duck decoy bodies, resawing wider boards, and so on. Most guys don't make decoys, so lopping off sections of logs on the band saw wouldn't matter. But if you can use such a thing, it's worth a look-see:

Either way my hat's off to ya. I can't wait to get mine!!

I keep a special envelope tagged for archery related expenditures.
Every time I'm about ready to order one I find another used bow that I just can't live without.
Looks like I'm going to have to start a different envelope.
Nice bandsaw. It is on my list.

I couldn't wait to get my shop floor sealed. I just had to go ahead and put the saw together. I went step by step in set up and tuning instructions and it was if some one had already set it up for me. All I had to do was tweak the roller bearings a tad. I love it!

Get some new blades for it right away the one they ship with it wont last very long. A good blade is the best thing you can do for the saw.
