Measuring Pull length

I have searched for this, with no luck. How is pull measured, from the belly of the bow to  where? So then on a tillering tree you would start your measuring marks one inch form the belly of the handle area where it rests on the tree? I am trying to figure out where to mark the tree.   Hope this make sense.

Draw lenth is measured to the back of the bow.

crap...I marked my tree from the belly of the bow.  
If you go from the back of the bow, and have bows of different thicknesses, doesn't throw off your marks on the tree?  I guess as long as I am consisent when tillering it doesn't matter.  Then when figuring final bow stats i can measure the thickness of the bow and add that to the measure on the tree and that will give me final wieght\\draw stats, right?

Draw length is to the belly of the grip + 1.75in.

If you want to use the standard - it is 1.75" from the deepest point on the grip as stated above. Mark your tillering tree from this amount above where the bow handle is supported. This is for draw weight.

This is not necessarily the same as arrow length measurement which is usually to the actual back of the bow plus whatever amount you like hanging past for braodhead clearance - sometimes they are the same.

Are you asking for a selfbow? Selfbows are measured from the string to the back of the bow. I run a piece of masking tape down my tiller tree, put the unstring stave or bow in and measure. When I'm done I take out the tape. I find anything else confusing. Jawge
