Excellent Kenny!  now is that some actionwood i see in the background or what!

kennym

Yep,would you believe I took a pic of that too?

Here are some scraps from cleaning the edges up,just ground a little to show grain...

Not sure if I like the desert camo(on right) but the others are good!!

I was a little iffy on that dessert camo too..but when you put the finish on it it really looks good..especially with some zebra or elm lams. The grey remains my all time favorite though.

Very innovative, Kenny. The drawn shape of the the limbs on that bow looks good.  What results did you get through the crony?  Is that the bow with the tip wedges?

The stuff I wrote down is in the shop, but I think with 10 gpp, this bow,the maple test bow, it was 172 fps and the tip wedge test bow(walnut core) was 174

Added the .050 to 0 in 11" glass powerlams on the belly glass to the tip wedge (and now powerlam) bow today, will have results next weekend......

I have a long way to go in the speed department, but the shootability and noise level are great! LOL

Those last two qualities in a bow are the most important!

Kenny is the desert camo the red and gray looking one.

I like that combo.

Thanks

Whoa !! I backed up and read again, that is spectraply, not actionwood. Sorry about that.

It appears to be just as good,I haven't put it on my website yet, wanted to mess with it first.

I cut a riser out of it,going to do this bowbefore putting on the site, appears to be high quality,no voids,I think it'll be good!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I have sold a couple blocks, but don't want to sell a bunch till I have some feedback...

Kenny, that is great, I am really interested in making one thanks for the idea.
I have been blessed, beyond measure.

kennym

Another proofread catch!!

Dan,that IS the tipwedge test bow!
------------------------------------
Fred,it was very simple to make the shooter,3 pcs common 2x4,some velcro fuzzy, and a winch from wallyworld. Thought I had a cheap one found twice, couldn't wait any longer!! LOL

Oh had to get a release to put on the winch...
Stay sharp, Kenny.

nice machine kenny. Looks like it works well. If y ever need anyone with a very bad release to test your bows give me a call. :-)

Very cool Kenny !! How does the release work?

Greg,
It' just a cobra release with the wrist strap taken off,and mounted to the winch hook. I figured the winch strap would have a lot of recoil upon the shot, but it is pretty dead.

I just touch it off with a finger on the trigger!

I like it !! I've got a chronograph, might just have to rig something up. The boat winch is a perfect idea.

"Actionwood" is just a term bow builders use, its real name is either stratabond or spectraply depending on where its purchased but it's still actionwood to us builders Kenny   :readit:    :D

I thought the brown was a little light colored and plain looking until I put some finish on it! Very deep in color and nice to work with.

Oh, nice shooting machine too!

kennym

Just wanted to be clear!!  :p
