Has anyone else experienced crysals in the belly of a hickory self bow? The bow I,m talking about is 42# at 26 inches and 63" ntn. Maybe I over strained one limb during tillering not sure! I was wondering tho, can crysals (not sure of spelling) form from the bow being to cold? Because opening morning was below thirty two degrees  and my bow had been in my truck all night. That day was the first time I noticed the compression fractures.

Chyrsals localized in one spot result from tiller that is off. That spot is bending too much. If they are spread out over the whole limb the bow is too short, too heavy or too narrow. No on the cold. jawge
