hi guys, I need a tiller opinion on a new bow i just started.  It is hickory backed ipe, 60 inches ntn, i'm hoping for 55 @ 26. It has a couple of knots in the belly of the lower limb.  But so far so good, the bow is on a 2 inch brace height and it drawn 18 inches in the picture.

Looks to me like the inner limbs need to bend more. Is this a bend thru the handle "D" bow?

Yep, lookin good, keep in mind you want a circular tiller on these bows, use all that limb.   ;)

thanks pat, been doing a bit of scrapeing and tillering. dano has been keeping an eye on me lol, i managed to get her down to 55@20 on a 3" brace still aways to go what do think about the picture is the tiller any way close? anyway pat i appreciate the help you and dano have given me in the past so i guess i'll keep going, [ slowly as dano said].   noel

Dano

That's looking good, I would get the middle bending more to get closer to circular tiller.

thanks dano, do mean the middle of limbs or the inner limbs (the middle of the bow).   noel

Dano

The inner limbs, with no handle, I like to bend all the way thru the middle.

hi dano, did a bit more work on the inner limbs witch took a bit of weight of as well. at the moment shes got a 6" brace and draws 55@24, i figure she should be close to 55@26 by the time i finish sanding. so if the tiller looks ok to you guys i guess i can go to the next step.   noel

Dano

YEAH! I'd shoot a hundred arrows thru it and check tiller, but she looks pretty good.
