Hey guys I,m just finishing my first sinew backed osage!
TBB said that the glue may make loud cracking noises when drawn especially if to much hide glue is used. Well mine does this and I was wondering how long I can expect this to keep up? Will it stop when the glue stops drying or how does that work?

I have a bow that I built about 8 years ago, that still does it. I finished it with Thunderbird epoxy, so the finish now has cracks and lifted areas. I am starting to see that maybe snake skins or rawhide might prevent this. We'll have to see if any one else has any ideas.   ;)

I've never had this happen. But an old bowyer I knew built an short 55 inch Osage, sinew that did it.He said the guy he built it for said after 4 years it was still doing it.
The guy said he used it deer hunting and the deer always stoped to take a look.He said he had a built in grunt.
He told me he'd built one about 15 years before that one did the same thing. It was also short 60 inch.He said once its there it's there. The clicking won't leave.
