Both are just fine. Boo may be smoother but maple can throw a mean arrow. That is what I use in my designs.(boo/maple).

I have done it with both styles and recurves. I like maple just fine in a recurve, seems very stable and hard hitting.

Boo may be smoother,but personally I can't tell the diff. I'm probably an insensitive lout tho! LOL
