This is the first try at using one. Built this  to fit in my backpack while running bears..

Spec's:
58"'55# @28 Maple and lacewood limbs ,1"phenolic I beam riser with lacewood sideplates.
No full draw pic's as the finish is still not cured.Been raining for the last 3 weeks and the forecast doesn't look good for next week either. 4 coats Tbird with 2 coats of urethane over.

:clapper:  That my friend is a fine pice of work.  Was the bow bolt hard to do?  I read the instructions on line seems pretty explanatory.  Just need to take my time.

Thanks Shawn. Was just checking out your bow . Great job! My fifth bow didn't look near as nice.
The bow bolt wasn't difficult. I put it in the riser block before shaping the riser. If I had a digital readout on my drill press for accuracy I would build the bow and cut it in half.
It does limit the handle shape. I like a small handle with the off side dished out which is not possible with the bolt.

Word of caution....
A friend of mine had his bolt blow out yesterday. It was on the tree thankfully.Haven't had a chance to do an autopsy yet.

That's a beauty!  Great job!
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

Sweet Looking Bow!

What kind of hounds do you use to run the bears? i love me some blueticks....

joekeith

Wow, good looking job.     Do you think there's enough wood on a Dryad Hunter to try and mount one?  I'd love to have one on it if possible.

PV

Doesn't look like it from the pictures of the dryad hunter Joe. I know Mike and Jason used to offer the bolt in some of their models. Might want to contact them about it.
Doeboy my friend uses walkers almost exculsivly. Had a tick up from jersey last year that was a good coon hound but didn't seem to take to the bears.

I have done about 30 bows with the bolt.  The first one I built it into the riser first.  That takes a lot of time.  Since #1 I always build the bow to the square and then cut it in half. It's a little scary at first.  Just make sure your jig on your drill press is set up right.  I bought a drill press expressly for drilling the holes for the bolts.  It don't do nothin else.
Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

Wow...That is great work... Excellent!

Peckerwood

That is a sleek looking bow . The black glass and phenolic really go with the leopard wood. Do you have any pictures of the bow strung yet?

Bill

That is an incredible looking bow. I'm going to have to look more into the bow bolt. Looks interesting.
