I have been studing the properties of wood. I have a question. If you have two pieces of wood the exact same size and one has a SG of .50 and the other one has an SG of 1.0, will the physicall weight of the 1.0 piece of wood be exactly double the weight of the .50 SG wood?

George Tsoukalas

Yes, since it is the density the same unit of volume will have double the mass in the SG 1 stave. Jawge
