Sinew Question

How does backing a bow with sinew effect tillering?  
I have a bow I am working on but it looks as though it will come on the light side of where I would like it.  I have it very close to both limbs bending the same and only have about 6 inches to go tillerin it.  Right now it is 30# at 19".  I wouls like a bow that is about 57# at 26".

The limbs should appear stiffer if the sinew is applied evenly. I would tiller to your desired draw length then sinew and adjust from there. Keep in mind you want the sinew to dry real well before bending again, probably a few weeks in dry weather.

You might make it.  I recommend 3 layers.

like Dano says, finish it first then sinew it.  You may need to add a little reflex when you put the backing on.  It's easy.
