Recurve bow design

Hi I hope you guys can help me to design a recurve bow made from pre-preg carbon fiber. To be honest it's for a crossbow so I will probably get kicked out of here, but I am not looking for anything crossbow specific.

I have found an equation which will help me come up with the profile of the recurve bow, it's basically this equation 11 on this paper by Kooi:

I have decided that the I will probably keep the thickness constant. So that leaves the width variation along the length of the bow. I know nothing about this and it's impossible to find out about, so if anyone could give me any references or other info on this it would be great.
