Found a facility in Lake Luzerne, NY that offers a beginners and an advanced/intermediate forging course. Its at The Adirondack Folk School. Anyone from NY ever attended any classes up there? The next one is next weekend and Im trying to free up some time to attend. If I cat get up there next weekend Ill be doing it later on in the spring. Felt like I struck gold when I found the website.

Never been up there but it sounds like a great time and I hope you get to attend. If and when you do take pics and share them if you don't mind. Hope it works out your way Izzy.

Izzy, I hope you can attend.  Regardless if it is blade forging or general blacksmithing it will benefit you!  Have fun and take photos!

Izz,

+2 With Steve. No matter what you learn it will be a benefit!  The principles are all the same except quenching & tempering. But be careful . . .It's Addictive as all get out!

Age brings us the priceless gift of experience and knowledge. . . Priceless, but not free.

Got some bad weather coming this weekend so looks like Im gonna have to put it off. This class provides all materials to build a knife and a student will leave having have forged and built a knife. Looks like April now with this weather.

My old neighbor used to belong to that group.  said they know their stuff!

Let me know how you like it at the next club meeting.
