Over the past few weeks I have decided I needed a forge, so I have been scavenging parts for a freon tank propane forge. Along the way i realized I also have all the parts to make a truck break drum forge set into a steel table. I also have access to a large amount of free coal. So i am making both to play with. Probably use the propane mostly for blades and the coal for messing around.

Anyway.... I was asking around about about a blower for the drum. My buddy said "I think there is one kicking around the attic" "next to some old moonshine still or something, been there forever"

Well,l we went and checked it out and sure enough there was a blower, but it wasn't a still next to it. it was an homemade forge. It was an old water tank or something with a heavy cast iron plate, an ash dump with a great homemade butterfly valve, blower tube hooked up with an air bypass, vented up the top  in front of a butterfly air  gate. Gonna really check it out in the light tomorrow and get some pics.  I'll still probably build my own but this thing is pretty cool.

Epic fail. A lot of work went into this forge by someone......but the design is just awful. It "worked" but not well. I did learn a few things to avoid when finishing the build on mine!
