I've been lurking here for quite some time and post occasionally, but have never posted any pictures of my work because I've just been too lazy to figure out how.  Well, I decided to get over the laziness and get it done.  Here is a hunter I made for one of my wife's first cousins.  The blade was ground from an old Black Diamond file that belonged to their grandfather.  The handle is from a whitetail shed.  The guard is white bronze, and the pin is from a bronze brazing rod.  Now I've got to build a light box and learn how to take decent pictures!  Thanks for looking!

knife is nice but that sheath your covering up looks great! i think leather work is over looked.  its tough to get a finished product like that. good work.

Thanks, guys! JD, the sheath turned out pretty good, but I struggle with leather working most of the time.  Got kind of lucky on that one.

Todd, great looking knife and sheath!

Have you considered dyeing the antler?  I think it improves the look of the antler, especially with that sheath!

Looks great. All elements look good. Excellent job on that guard.

Steve, I don't usually dye antler, although I agree that it might look better brown. I generally just leave it whatever color it is when I get it.  If I run across another bleached out shed, I might try my hand at dying it.I've read about other folks doing it with leather dye or potassium permangenate.
