Forged by Jim Wester from round bars of O-1 (high carbon steel). Differencial hardened - just the edges are hard, the backs are left "soft" and tough, to withstand a lot of shock.
To help ward against rust I give these blades a gun-blueing treatment, which makes a subtle bluish/black finish. It will rub off with use, nicely blending with the steel's own patina.
I have put on dyed osage scales pinned with 3/16" copper and a copper lined wrist thong hole.
The sheath is welted veg tan covered with rawhide and Copperhead skin. It is set up for right hand crossdraw.
Scary sharp, holds a great edge and easy to resharpen. 3 1/2" edge, 8 1/2" overall. About 7/32" thick on the spine. Thanks for looking.

Very cool.  I love the shape of the blade.  Sheath is, as usual, very slick looking.  TRW
