Hey all,

I think I am going to try and use a blank to make my first.  That would be easier for me than to jump right in and try to make one from scratch.  After I do a few then I would go to making one on my own.  At least that's the plan.

Now I need to know where to get good knife blade blanks.  I don't know when I am looking at different blades which ones are good quality and which ones are junk and would be a waste of time.  KnifeKits has some nice looking stuff as do some of the other knife supply houses.

What place would you all suggest I try?  Can you tell me what to look for when buying a blade blank to make sure it's decent quality?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks all,

Nalajr

Larry, I have bought blades and other supplies from NCK and Jantz.  Both are selling made in US blades as well as off shore stuff. Had good luck with both firms.  I'm buying damascus blades from Two Finger Knife Co. now.
cheers, Dale
