I gave away my knife I made for myself back in 1979 to my best friend after my recent retirement from Hewlett-Packard. I decided to make another one now that I resumed my knifemaking hobby, so, here it is: D2 tool steel 3" blade with cocobolo colored dymondwood handle. Weight is 3.2 oz. I also like to carry my little knife in horizintal sheath at my side, or at the small of my back.

I like that, very useful looking.

Nice job.I have been think'n about making something like that for every day carry that would be carried conveniently out of the way for easy access, sure would beat digging around in my pocket so much every time I need to cut something.

Idaho,
Beautiful work.  What length is it and how is it working out?  If you were starting over would you change anything on the knife or sheath? I working on finding a fixed blade horizontal EDC.  I tried a small Dozier (6.75") and it was too large but liked the security of the dozier horizontal kydex sheath but not the feel, size, etc. of the plastic.  Tried a very small fixed blade which was too small for a heavy work and the sheath was not stable.

Thats a great looking knife.  Perfect for everyday use.

Dear easyup,
Blade is 2 3/4" with 4 3/8" handle. I am very happy with the way it carries on my belt, so I dont think I would change anything.
This knife replaced a 3" blade folder I made for myself in 1979, and it also had a horizontal case.
