I've been forging a lot lately as I didn't have my new forge all winter.  Anyway I just keep trying different things...So here is my handle for the primative forged blade I was beating on.

I was going to add a wood contour spacer on the handle and then wrap it with some smoked brain tanned leather.  As I was looking for the right wood I picked up a small antler that I found on Pig Gig.  The curvature seemed to fit.  I ground each tine flat and tapered on one side.  Then didn't polish the sun bleached antler thus leaving the blade and antler with the raw look.  Seems to fits my hand with a nice palm swell.

If nothing else it is Different  :)   With Bear Quest and St Judes Auction coming up, I guess I'm done fooling around for awhile.  Won't bore ya'll til the next brain fart...Doc

You need some Ontario racks Doc! I found some dandy sheds this year, I'll haul some south to Denton for ya.
