I asked for advise on warthog tusk in another tread. Thanks for the advise Lin. And as requested I am going to post some pics from start to finish. So here goes.

This is a knife I am making for a buddy. Blade will be D2, Handle is clearly going to be tusk but the wood between the handle and guard is African Black wood which will be cut and staggered with red, yellow, and green spacer material to further the African theme of the handle.

This will be the first hidden tang handle knife I have ever made and the first knife to have a back bevel so any information anyone can share on either of the two it would be much appreciated.

The curve of the tusk for a handle is pretty radical for me but I like the blade shape!
'cuz deer huntin' ain't catch & release!

You're gonna have to curve that tang to insert as much as possible into the tusk. You can make a broach from an old file to remove any core material so you can fit the tang.
Take your time & keep checking the fit. It's a slow process but eventually you'll get there.
Post some pictures when you finish it.
