What do you use to seal them to keep blood and gut from getting in them and stinking?

I've never done one, Dan, but at a hammer-in I went to last year a fellow who makes a lot of tactical ear wraps his handles, tapes up the blade to protect it, and then mixes some West System epoxy. Paints it on to soak in and then lets it set up for a day.
Repeat until it no longer takes any more.
Would I lie to you?

I just wash mine in hot water and dish detergent. Then after a week of bear camp, I'll cut off cord and re-wrap. Once you get the hang of wrapping a cord handle, it takes less than 10 minutes to do...tippit

Well after saying I was going to epoxy it I ended up with a dab of superglue and I will see what it ends up like after a few hogs. Like was said I can just cut it off and redo it later.

I don't think you can really waterproof cord...but epoxy or super glue might make it last a little longer...that is smell a little less longer

But the beauty of it is how great the grip is and how easy & quick you can add a new wrap.

Now, I drill all my blades for paracord & pins so I can try them first with paracord to see if they are worthy of a nice permanent handle...Doc

Karl, I'd like to know if that really seals out odor. That one is a fair amount of work to think about cutting off! Mine are the simple Slam Bam Thank You Mam quickies so no big deal or any tears in cutting off

They sure get stinky after a week of skinn' bears...Doc

I'll bet they do.
I have no personal experience with long term exposure to guts and such.
When it comes down to it, being able to replace it sounds like a pretty good idea.
Try the epoxy once and find out!

If I was doing some thing fancy like ray skin under it I would think about trying to seal it, but under current conditions I will just cut if off if it gets to bad.

That is a very beautiful knife.
