Here's a odell helle blade knife that I recently finished. I've been waiting  for a sunny dat to take some pictures.
The handle is cocobolo and ebony with a cocobolo/ebony herringbone mosaic stripe. (Thanks joebuck) The accents are bloodwood.

What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

Awsome!  love the handle shape and combo of woods.

That looks like it took some time.

Where do you get the "mosaic stripe"  or do you make it?

How did you make that mosaic strip?  Any special tools required?

Nice looking knife!  What did you use for the blade guard? Or whatever you call the silver piece between the handle and blade.

Thanks guys. Farmboy and leftieshot, I did make the mosaic stripe. I used a scroll saw and a block sander. I cut several 1/2" strips of cocobolo and ebony from  laminations I made. The laminations were 1-1/2" wide by about .050 thick. I cut the strips with my scroll saw set at a 45 degree angle. I alternated them and made points out of the angles and glued them between a .030 piece of purpleheart. It's hard to explain but not that hard to do.
Madness, the finger guard is made of brass. I picked up some nice pieces at the scrap yard real cheap. They were nice enough to let me rummage through their bins. Mike
