Gents here's a little something I've been working on for a while, and something you might consider yourselves, if you haven't already!
For the most part, spindly little whitetails antlers, as much as we love them, simply don't make the best knife handles. But! you can take a small piece of the main beam and make a small inlay for your next kinfe. You might have an antler you got from a deer when you were hunting with your best buddy, or something memorable like that.
For the most part, this inlay was created about 95% with a simple Dremel tool and 1/4" drum sander and tiny carbide burrs.
It is Mammoth Ivory, but the inlay material itself is irrelevant.
I could do a little tutorial in a month or so, but I thought I'd just send this your way and give you something to think about when you're drifting off to sleep!
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

a small engraving on the inlay would make an awesome knife even better!!!
anything can happen on a texas friday night, if you dont mind your manners you dont mind a fight

Yes! please do a tutorial.  I love the looks of inlays but have no idea what the trick is to getting the fit and finish so bang on.

Karl, that looks great and I am looking forward to your tutorial.
I have some elephant ivory waiting to be inlaid.

Man I'd love to see a tutorial on that process!

What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

Sounds like a great idea to me!
