When I was a young man I dated some between hunting seasons      Most of the girls I met back then weren't very impressed with my prowess with the bow and arrow. And when the found out I actually killed things with it the definitely weren't impressed    :D

Then first time I met Nancy I found out she liked a lot of the same outdoor things that I did. She didn't shoot a bow at the time but her first Cousin had been the NFAA (National Field Archery Association)  Instinctive Champion and was an avid bow hunter. Her Father, Uncles, and Grandfather were great lovers of hunting and fishing. She had all the right background for a lifetime hunting partner so on our 2nd date I took her Ice Fishing     ...She loved it      The 1st date was to see the new Movie, "Old Yeller"...yes I said NEW movie    :)

The following year I bought her a bow. It was  a Simi Recurve by Gordon, 39#@28" I got her some arrows and taught her to shoot. At the time she was living with two other girls in an apartment in town over a Doctors Office. I fixed her a target with straw bales in the end of the garage and she use to shoot in her driveway into the garage. By Fall she was ready to go hunting so hunting we went    :archer:

That first year that we hunted together was 1958. We were married in the winter of 59 and she hasn't missed a bow season since...in fact I think she has as much enthusiasm for it as she ever had.

I've always felt kinda sorry for the guys who's wives didn't hunt with them..they say the family that hunts together...stays together    :goldtooth:

These pictures were taken yesterday.

Very cool Ron!!! Congrats to both of you for finding the right hunting partner and life partner!!!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Ron, I don't know what I am more jealous about!

Your Wife or the fact that you don't have a year long wait for shrews   :clapper:

Eeeyup, he's the same silver tongued fellow who convinced me to put one of his bows on order about 10 months ago that talked her into marrying him....
Congrats, you are an example to us not only for what you do in archery, but in marriage as well.

Congrats to you both. From all I've read about you, I kind of feel like I know you. Maybe someday I'll get that chance.
