I'm in the process of spraying my 3rd bow with T Bird.  I'm having trouble laying it down smooth.  It has a texture to it.  I think it is an orange peel.  Help me trouble shoot.
Is it too much air pressure?
Not enough finish?
I think it may be that I'm not getting enough finish on the bow for fear that it will run.  I'm using a cheap HVLP gun.  Thanks,  Chad

I use an airbrush, so I can't help you with your equiptment, but I get the same texture with my airbrush, there's a fine line between orange peal and a big run. I've found real light, almost powder coats, wet sanded work the best. I also just dust the last few coats on for a great look IMO.

Chad,  I use about 30#s of air pressure.  Thunderbird does not run easily if mixed properly (about 30%).  If it does run, no big deal.  The bow can be sanded and resprayed.  Spray it down good 3 times and let it dry.  Great finish.  Good luck.

Thanks for the responses guys.  Here's another question for you.  If I set the air pressure at 40# then when I pull the trigger it goes down to 30#.  Is my gun set at 40 or 30#?  Chad
