My archery mentor and good friend has been having bad acid reflux. He went to the doctor tuesday and they found three blocked arteries in his heart. Had to be kept overnight and had an emergency operation yesterday. If you could send some prayers his way I and his family would appreciate it. I have never had anyone I was very close with have any life threatening medical problems before. He is all I have thought about since last night. Ken introduced me to archery when I was 14 or so. He taught me almost everything I know about archery, bowhunting and how to be a man. He is directly responsible for my first whitetail buck (140" 10 point) and the great opportunity I had to backpack for 30 days through Wyoming with one of the best leadership schools in the world. If I had a rough hit on a deer and needed help trailing it he would come over the next day to help even though he lives an hour from me and has a crazy busy work schedule. He is one of the best hunters I know, in fact I am sure he is kind of p.o. that he cant be hunting now. Anyhow like I said your thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.
Thanks

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

UPDATE: Ken made it through surgery o.k. Needed a quadruple bypass instead of triple. Not letting him see any visitors yet and will hold him for at least another day. I am sure he will be mad about missing the rut.   :biglaugh:

Doc Nock

I've seen many go long years after bypass with some life style changes and diet alterations.

Thank you, Lord, for a successful operation.

I had a lovely older office manager lady keep having "heartburn" and it was she was having mild heart attacks...they fixed her up great.

After having one's sternum cut he won't be pulling bows this year... but I'm sure he'll be chasing critters again soon enough!

Now it's your turn to lighten his load.

What a tribute to your Mentor, Nick. Cudos for having such a grand person in your life!

Prayers for his full return to full activity!
