My father passed down his old Damon howatt diablo to me and i am wondering how old it really is.I know the last deer he shot with it was back in 1956 so i know it's at least that old.Serial number on the bow is EDV2630 and it's 58",46# @ 28" draw. Thanks in advance for any help.

Can't help with the date, but I always liked the looks of the Diablo. Don't know why  but I guess they just stood out from the regular Martins.

If you don't get any responses here, you might want to post this in the trad history/collecting forum.  Good luck in your search!

Timothy - in past posts I have seen that Larry Hatfield aka larryh is the guy to ask.

I also think I saw somewhere that Ted Fry at Raptor Archery was looking into aging Howaats.

I've got a couple early 60's Diablos that are just plain beautiful - and they are real shooters too.

I just recently picked up a Hunter that I'm real excited to see and shoot.

I guess I'm not only bit by the Bear bug - now I've got early Howaats on my mind    :help:

I believe I read that Larry mentioned the Diablo line came out in 1954.
