Looking for some info on this bow.

Herters CV 22 Turkish, Serial # 110465006 55# @28"

It has a laminated riser that appears to be rosewood and maybe dyed maple. The rosewood is natural and the other wood is stainerd yellow. It has yellow glass on the back and black on the belly.

I have found a little info on it but not much. I found some info on the serial # stating that the first two numbers where the length of the bow but I know it ain't 11" long LOL

The rest of the serial # makes since of the month, year and bow # for the month but I'm not sure.

I will post pics later.

Thanks for any help, Stiks

I have a 47#er, I believe the woods are walnut and maple. Pretty sure that ser# indicates it was made 11-04-65. Nice bows IMO.

Killdeer

Here is the bow listed in the 1966 Herters catalog. Sorry, I don't have a 1965 issue.
This is a large file pic, so you can read it better. Click on the thumbnail.

Hi
Your bow was built in April of 1965.
it was the 6th bow of that particular model built that month.

Thanks for the help. Paul I'm pretty sure the darker wood on mine is rosewood. I'm pretty familiar with wood species and this wood is a real deep red with fine grain. I'll get some pics up here in a bit

Killy that catolog photo is pretty cool, Thanks for posting it.

Arrow that is identical to mine other than the draw weight.

Yours looks nice and clean, The one I have have still has the original string with the brush buttons. It also is in very good condition. I may build a string today and fling a few from her and see how she shoots

Definately different woods than mine, but mine's a '61. I think you're right about the rosewood. Thats a beautiful bow.
