I just came across this thread. I am not with my books, so I won't throw out any guesses on most questions.

I do believe that number 14 is a bracelet made from the hair on an elephants tail, taken after the kill. As far as whose it is, that is a question I would have to guess on because I do not know what each successful hunters bracelet looked like.

My first guess would be Bill Negley.
You are correct for 1/2 of #14 is a bracelet made from the hair on an elephants tail.

However, you are incorrect for the other 1/2 in that Bill Negley is not connected to the bracelet.

Fred being the true gentleman that he always was, never mentioned this fact nor claimed this animal to be a short lived World Record, even though it truly was.

Wow! Tough questions Wade-you realize it has taken 8 pages so far to get about as many correct answers!

Missaukee

I initially thought Barren Ground Caribou, but someone answered caribou and that was incorrect, so I second guessed my self. I double checked the book when I returned home last night and I am going with it. Fred shot his in 1959, Bill Brown had a larger one in 1960 before the first P&Y awards ceremony.

Of note is that Fred's 1956 Rocky Mountain Goat was the largest in the book as of 1956, I am not sure the order of entry with NFAA entries but technically as of 1956 Fred had sort of a World Record for this species.

Missaukee -

Not sure which edition of the P&Y record book you are referencing, but check the First Edition, 1975 for Rocky  Mountain Goat...

Note...

42-2/8 - Wm Mastrangel - 1956
