I have a Bear Kodiak, not Super Kodiak, that was made in Gainesville and has camo actionwood, 60". I think it was made in the 1980's wondering if anyone could post a pic etc of this bow from a Bear Archery catalog, love to confirm its id and see how it was advertised. Thanks, Craig.

I have 81, 82, 82 and 85 and it's not in there.  Are you talking about the laminated wood that was different colors?  If so, I bought a TD Hunter like it in Nov 1991.

Yes that is the wOod do you have a 1990,s catalog maybe I'm wrong

The third bow down is a 1987 or 88 Gainesville Bear Kodiak.

Hit-or-Miss

I have a "Kodiak" (not the Super), in 70# draw, well #72 if you check under the arrow rest. Very colorful wood, it looks almost identical to the one pictured above (3rd down). I think it was made in the early 1990's or so. Very powerful bow, but a smooth draw. I have a 1995 Bear catalog, and the Kodiak, like mine and the one above, is listed. Sorry I can't post pics, but the caption in the 1995 catalog (item #2140, pg. 18), says...
"The dramatic lines of the classic recurve bow are exactingly reproduced in the Bear Kodiak. Laminated north country hardwoods and a full range of draw weights make this versitile recurve a great hunting partner for the traditional bowhunter. This is the ideal recurve to learn the conventional side of archery and bowhunting". Unlimited draw lengths, offered in #45, #50,, #55, #60, #65, #70, and 60"AMO. Multi-color laminated hardwoods, with black fiberglass facing / backing. Offered in natural satin finish or black and tan camo.
I hope this helps, sorry I can't post the page for you.
PS; A word to the wise... be careful cleaning your Kodiak bow. I need to find a white caligraphy pen and rewrite the words, #'s, etc, on mine, as I was buffing my bow up with gun stock sheen and conditioner, and the writing buffed right off. It looks like I'll need to put new finish on after I get everything rewritten, to protect it. If someone sends me an e-mail, I could send them a pic of my bow (and or the 1995 catalog) to post...?
