Hi Guys,
looking for a little help. I just acquired a mint 1969 Bear Kodiak Magnum. I know they made a couple different sttyles. This one has Olive Drab green glass with black cap and black tips. It is a sweet looking bow but I have never seen this variation.  Thanks, Tom

The black tips would tell me it is a 1968 model.

Big Bird

the 1968 had white tips.I also have the black tip 69. and they made the 69 with white tips also.

cacciatore

Yes,I have 2 69-one with black tip and overlays and one with white tips and black overlays.

Black tip overlays were only on 1968 models, possible you have a late 1968 leftover that got a 69 serial number.

1969 came with both black or white and some were black and white.3 different overlays on the 1969's KH and KM oh yeah two different riser woods tigerwood and or bubinga bd

Big Bird

your right bowdoc,I have one with bubinga, with black cap and tips.and I also have one, with white cap and white tips, with tigerwood.and have seen only one with just black tips, with white cap.

d. ward

the rare bird is the tigerwood with black tips black caps KM or KH however that was the first model and Bear had a concern about the tigerwood checking but not really cracking open but would have small splits show up in it from time to time.Me and Al was laughing our butts off over the phone one time as Al decoded a large group of mags ? fact was 17 years of mag production but wait there was 25 different combo's ???? bd

DYEBOW

Thanks for the help guys. I was wondering what wood I have it has a lot of dark grain in it. This bow is beautiful.  Tom

d. ward

Tom would it be possible for you to load a pic or two of the riser ? I'am thinking lots of grain showing may be tigerwood ? bd

DYEBOW

I'm working tonight but will send one in the AM.  Take care Tom

Nicely figured wood.

Waitin' to see what Bowdoc says 'cause it don't look like Bubinga or Shedua.

I can see why you may suspect that it tis Tigerwood but I don't think it is.  I think of Tigerwood as lighter wood and stripes.

Nice bow Tom
